Original Writing Samples and Work
This section of my portfolio includes several resources that I have written and used, either for a class at Luther Seminary or for use in a ministry context. These resources include curriculum, blog posts, and experiential prayer stations. A description of each resource can be found below, along with links to the resources.
These writing samples give an overview of how I create resources for use in a variety of ministry contexts.

RESOURCE #1: DIGGING INTO THE BIBLE
This four-part series of lessons about the Bible met requirements for my final in SG0401: Scripture and Its Witnesses I. In this series, high school youth explore questions including, "What is the Bible?""Who wrote the Bible?" and "How is the Bible the Word of God?" This series is not designed to teach specific Scripture passages; instead, its intention is to give youth a general overview of the Bible and how it was written.

RESOURCE #2: BIBLE STUDIES
These three lessons met requirements for my final in NT4225: Genesis to Revelation. This series of Bible Studies is designed for a middle school small group. The first lesson studies a portion of the book of Ruth, the second studies Micah, and the third studies part of Paul's letter to the Philippians. Each lesson includes background information for the leader, games, and Scripture study.

RESOURCE #3: BLOGS ABOUT CULTURE AND FAITH
The texts for two blog posts, which are available by clicking the buttons at the right, met requirements for my final in CY4564: Culture and Emerging Generations. This assignment required putting an artifact from culture in dialogue with a Scripture passage, theologian, or theological idea. The first blog post puts Adele's song "Hello" in dialogue with the story of Hannah. The second blog post puts "Mockingjay," the conclusion to The Hunger Games trilogy, in dialogue with Gustavo Gutierrez's liberation theology.

RESOURCE #4: PRAYER STATIONS
This folder, accessible by clicking the button located to the right, contains a sampling of experiential prayer stations that may be used with children, youth, and adults. These prayer stations were developed over several years and come from Advent and Lent services with different themes. These themes include (but are not limited to): reflecting on baptismal promises, themes of personal and group wellness, the Stations of the Cross, and more. Each station includes Scripture to read, quotes or questions for personal reflection, a hands-on activity, and a prayer to pray. Contact me for more prayer station ideas, or to use these stations in worship.
